Privacy policy
Effective 18 October 2026
Snapout helps you spend less time in apps that drain your attention. This policy explains what the app does with information. In short: Snapout keeps its data on your phone, has no accounts, and does not send what you do to us or to anyone else.
Snapout is published by Pavan Gokul B R, India. In this policy, "we" means the publisher. You can reach us at [email protected].
What Snapout keeps on your phone
- Your choices: the apps you block, your rules, schedules, daily goal and settings.
- Your focus sessions and the time you focused, so it can show progress and streaks.
- How many reels or shorts you swipe through each day in Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and Snapchat.
- A short log of when Snapout blocked or paused something.
- If you turn on "Silence their notifications": the title and text of notifications from the apps you blocked, kept for 3 days so you can read them later. Snapout never saves the words of messages, email, banking or payment notifications, or anything that looks like a one-time code. Those are hidden from your notification shade but are not stored.
All of this stays inside the app on your phone. Android backups are turned off for Snapout.
What Snapout reads but does not keep
- Usage access: which app is open and how long apps are used. Snapout needs this to know when to block an app and to enforce daily limits.
- Accessibility: the screen of Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Snapchat and a few web browsers. Snapout uses it to notice when Reels or Shorts are open, to count them using numbers such as the like count, and to read the address bar so it can block websites you chose. Snapout does not save what it reads, does not record what you type, and only listens to the apps on that list.
- Notification access: the contents of notifications from the apps you chose to block, only to hide them.
- Display over other apps: lets Snapout show the block and pause screens on top of an app.
What Snapout does not do
There is no account and no sign-in. There are no ads. There are no analytics or tracking tools. Snapout does not sell or share your information, and it does not upload anything to a server, because Snapout has no servers.
Purchases
Snapout Pro is bought through Google Play. Google handles the payment. Snapout only learns whether you have Pro. We do not see your card or payment details. Google's privacy policy applies to your purchase.
Support and diagnostics
If you email support we receive your email address and whatever you choose to send, including the phone model and app version that the email template adds. We use it only to answer you, and we keep the conversation for as long as we need it to help you. A hidden developer tool can copy information about what Snapout can see on screen to your clipboard when you tap it. It hides personal words such as usernames by default, and you decide where to paste it.
Your choices
You can take back any permission at any time in Android settings. Snapout will then stop the feature that needs it.
You can delete everything Snapout stores on your phone with Settings, Delete my data. While Strict Mode is on, deletion waits until it ends. Uninstalling Snapout deletes its data.
Because we hold no personal data about you outside your phone, there is nothing for us to export or erase on our side. If you emailed us and want that email deleted, write to the address below and we will delete it.
Children
Snapout is meant for people aged 13 and over. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Security
Snapout's data lives in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot read. No method of storage is perfect, but Snapout keeps nothing outside your phone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes and the new text appears in the app and on this page. If a future version of Snapout starts to collect anything new, such as a sign-in, this policy will say so before that version is released.
